Yesterday we learned about the different food groups and how much of each you should eat in a day. Today we used our knowledge of keeping healthy to bake some healthy treats. These included coconut and raisin flapjack, banana muffins and cinnamon, raisin and apple muffins. We are getting very good at following instructions!
Today we have been following instructions to make our own bread. We had to find our own ingredients, weigh them and follow the instructions very carefully in the right order.
After it was cooked we tasted the bread we had made and other different types of bread from the shop. We discussed how they tasted using some amazing adjectives and talked about which ones we preferred and why.
Today we’ve been using equipment to represent a number in as many different ways as we can. Can you see which number we made?
We’ve had a very exciting couple of days so far in Year 3! On our wow day yesterday we came dressed as our favourite fruits and vegetables, tasted some fruits we’d never tried before and even guessed what different foods were only by touching them.
Today we’ve been on a trip to the Co-op and learned even more about food. We had a talk about where food comes from and how the shop makes sure all of the food in the store hasn’t gone bad.
We were lucky enough to go into the warehouse where the food is kept before it goes onto the shelves. We went into the big fridge and freezer rooms! They were absolutely freezing!
Remember to come dressed as your favourite fruit or vegetable for our wow day tomorrow. I can’t wait to see all of your fantastic costumes on our exciting day.
